Karl-Heinz Streibich, born in 1952, assumed the position of CEO of Software AG in October 2003. In this role he is also responsible for the following functions: Corporate Marketing; Human Resources; Audit, Processes & Quality; Legal Affairs; Corporate Office and Corporate Communications.

Before joining Software AG, he served as deputy Chairman of the Board at T-Systems GmbH. Mr. Streibich launched his career in 1981 at Dow Chemical Company in Rheinmünster, Germany as a software development engineer.

His next assignment took him to ITT Industries in London as a Product Marketing Manager, in 1984. He then joined ITT-SEL AG (now Alcatel-Lucent) in Germany as Managing Director of the PC business.

In 1989, he joined Daimler Benz AG, where he served in several IT related executive positions. These included deputy Member of the Board at AEG Olympia Office GmbH, Chairman of the Board of debis Systemhaus DCS (Distributed Computing Services) GmbH and VP of Sales and Services at debis Systemhaus CCS (Computer and Communications Services).

In 1996, he assumed a seat on the debis Systemhaus GmbH Board of Directors. From 2000 to 2002, he served as Chairman of the Board at debis Systemhaus where he was also responsible for the integration of debis Systemhaus GmbH with T-Systems GmbH, a division of Deutsche Telekom.

Mr. Streibich holds a degree in communications engineering (Dipl.-Ing. Nachrichtentechnik) from the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany.


David Broadbent

David Broadbent, born in 1960, was appointed to the Executive Board in January 2007 and commencing May 2008, is now Chief Operating Officer for both Business Divisions, ETS and webMethods, Region East (Asia/Pacific, Nordic, Central Europe, South-Africa).

Mr. Broadbent joined Software AG in July 1999 as a Sales Manager in the UK subsidiary. In the years that followed, Mr. Broadbent became UK Sales Director, Country Manager South Africa and then, Senior Vice President of Sales in the United States. 

Most recently Mr. Broadbent became Chief Product Officer for the Business Division Enterprise Transaction Systems (ETS) while also being responsible for ETS in the Asia/Pacific Region.

Active in the IT industry since 1981, Mr. Broadbent spent the early years of his career working in sales in the UK. Following five years in the Middle East, Mr. Broadbent returned to the UK and spent the next sixteen years in various sales and sales management positions at software vendors Computer Associates, Borland and ESP.


Mark Edwards

Mark Edwards was born in London, England in 1956. Mark spent the early years of his career in a technical capacity working in the mainframe arena. In 1983 he accepted a position as Computer Operations Manager for the Government of Bermuda a post he held for five years. Upon his return to the UK, he chose to focus his career more specifically on the software industry, and joined Computer Associates, where he worked until 1997 as General Manager - Sales. For the next two years he served as Managing Director for the UK Software and Services operation for Platinum Technology.

He joined Software AG in July 1999 as Managing Director of the UK operation, and in 2001 his responsibilities were extended to also include the Nordics and Netherlands. In April 2003, he was invited to join the Executive Management Board taking responsibility for the operations in Northern Europe, South Africa, Asia/Pacific and Japan. As of May 2008, Mark Edwards is Chief Operating Officer for both Business Divisions, ETS and webMethods for Region West (North America, Latin America, Northern, Western and Southern Europe).


Dr. Peter Kürpick

Dr. Peter Kürpick, born in 1966, joined Software AG in April 2005, and in his role he is responsible for Research & Development of both Business Divisions, webMethods and ETS.

Before coming to Software AG, he was Senior Vice President Server Technology at SAP and as such was responsible for major parts of the SAP Netweaver stack, which is the foundation of all SAP applications. At the beginning of 2000 he acted as Executive Board Assistant, during which time he worked out of Palo Alto, New York and Germany for Prof. Dr. Hasso Plattner, former CEO and co-founder of SAP.  Dr. Kürpick started his career in IT in 1998, joining SAP as a software developer. 

Dr. Kürpick earned a Diploma in Physics focusing on theoretical physics / supercomputer  topics in 1989 and a PhD in theoretical physics in 1993. From 1995 to1997 he did his postdoctorate in the United States, working at the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Kansas State University, and the Oak Ridge National Laboratories, Tennessee.


Ivo Totev

Ivo Totev, born in 1967, was appointed to Software AG’s Executive Board in March 2009 with global responsibility for the Global Consulting Services business.

Mr. Totev has been with Software AG since 2005 and was previously a member of the extended Management Board, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer with responsibility for global marketing product management, product marketing, and corporate marketing.

After graduating university in 1994 with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mr. Totev began his career at Progress Software. Following that, he worked for Forté Software, where he assisted with the launch of their German operations.  Later, he worked for Sun Microsystems, where he served as Technology Evangelist, responsible for the company strategy and vision in the Java market. Mr. Totev then worked for SAP AG from 2003 to 2005, where he was responsible for product marketing for the NetWeaver Developer platform.

 


Arnd Zinnhardt

Arnd Zinnhardt, born in 1962, has been a member of the board since May 2002, and in this role he is responsible for the following departments: Finance and Controlling, Taxes, Global Purchasing, Investor Relations, Mergers and Acquisitions, Global IT, Support and Administration.

Prior to coming to Software AG, Arnd was a partner at BDO Deutsche Warentreuhand AG.
 
Arnd began his career in 1988 at Ernst & Young. In 1992 Arnd passed his tax adviser exams while continuing to work at Ernst & Young. He passed his certified public accountant (CPA) exams in 1994. In 1996, the company summoned him to Cleveland, Ohio to join the International Audit Innovation Team. In 1997, Ernst & Young appointed Arnd to the managing board for risk-management consulting and the financial services industry managing board. In 1998, Arnd became a partner at BDO Deutsche Warentreuhand AG in Frankfurt, responsible for the financial services practice. In 2001, he became regional and office managing partner at BDO Deutsche Warentreuhand AG. 
 
As a member of the working group on the stock market and IAS 39 of the certified public accountants’ institute, Arnd worked on defining guidelines for the profession, collaboration between CPAs and the stock market, and evaluating financial instruments.

Arnd Zinnhardt holds a degree in business administration from the University of Cologne.
