The company employs close to 300 people and manufactures more than 10 million medicinal units each year. Innovation and quality are the main objectives of Salvat Laboratories.
The Challenge
Salvat's need lay in being able to establish an integration platform between its internal management system, Enterprise Resource Planning SAP R3, and its new sales management system, Siebel.
The customer was aware of the integration possibilities offered by these two systems but they meant elevated costs and involved technological dependency that Salvat preferred to avoid.
The main objective was to create a system transparent to changes and with the capacity to integrate other systems and platforms either from Salvat or third parties (logistical operators, distributed production, etc.).
The Solution
Software AG developed an integration project based on the new crossvision Service Orchestrator integration suite.
In the flow established in crossvision Service Orchestrator, messages generated by each of the communicating systems are converted, thus expanding and enriching the information in order to guarantee reliability of the chain of events in the process.
The conversion rules embedded in crossvision Service Orchestrator have made it possible to decouple the systems and at the same time incorporate generationally differentiated data.
