Sydney, 3/5/2013

  • 3 new leadership roles to support Software AG’s goal of sustainable, profitable and dynamic growth.
  • Investment in new hire strengthens Software AG’s commitment to the region.

Capitalising on rapid economic growth in the Asia Pacific and Japan region, Software AG welcomes Daniel Ternes, Mike Saxton and Graham McColough to its leadership team. Daniel has been appointed Regional Chief Technology Officer, Mike as Vice President of Business Process Excellence (BPE) Sales, and Graham Vice President of Terracotta, a Software AG subsidiary.

Stephen Keys, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific & Japan at Software AG, commented on the new appointments: “It’s a really exciting time to be part of Software AG. Daniel, Mike and Graham will help us drive sustainable, profitable and dynamic growth within the region and deeper customer engagements for Software AG.”

Software AG invested over AUS$5.3m in new staff and capabilities across the region in 2012 and this aggressive growth is set to continue throughout the coming year.

Keys noted that the investment will help Software AG maintain strong regional growth “enabled by platforms that allow our customers to fully leverage Cloud, Mobile, Social and Big Data, supported by Software AG’s problem solving and service oriented culture.”

“With the in-Memory technology of our daughter company, Terracotta, Software AG is at the forefront in enabling enterprises to derive maximum value from Big Data. Uniquely, Software AG can address the full value-chain, from in-memory technology, to automated and flexible business processes and to the next generation of Cloud-to-Cloud integration software”

As Regional Chief Technology Officer based out of Hong Kong, Daniel Ternes (ex-TIBCO BPM/Business Optimisation Product Strategy Director) brings 19 years of experience in the IT industry and will drive innovation and customer solutions. Based in Sydney, Mike Saxton (ex-Tibco, Hewlett Packard,

New Era of Network and Sybase) most recently saw a quadrupling of revenue during his eight year tenure as UK Country Manager for TIBCO software. This experience places him in a good position to contribute to Software AG’s goal for BPE product revenue to reach one billion euros globally in 2018.

Graham McColough, based in Singapore (ex-SAP, Cisco and NEC in both Australia and in Asia) will drive Terracotta through the current high growth phase in Asia Pacific Japan. Terracotta - the leader in the industry-wide transition to In-Memory computing - is deeply focused on Ultra High Speed Big Data. “Global revenue from Terracotta big data products more than quadrupled in 2012”.
