Forrester Research’s 171-criteria evaluation of ESB vendors and interviews with user companies cites Software AG among other vendors for its strategic focus and flexibility in deployment and configuration.
In deployments worldwide, Software AG’s webMethods Enterprise Service Bus Platform has helped companies create new systems and optimize business processes with less development cost and business risk and by maximizing use of existing investments in IT.
Forrester highlighted particular strengths of the webMethods ESB Platform, including:
“The standout feature of webMethods ESB is its elegant tooling.”
“The product has the cleanest developer abstraction among all the products, which means that it only requires developers to have minimal knowledge of the ESB’s underlying operating principles.”
“Software AG earned top scores for design-time support by including its CentraSite repository,” Software AG’s SOA governance solution.
“Being named a Leader in Forrester’s ESB Wave is something we are very proud of,” said Dr. Peter Kürpick, Chief Product Officer and member of the Executive Board, Software AG. “We are similarly proud of being named a Leader in three other Waves and believe these ratings bolster Software AG’s position as a technology leader. Because our webMethods ESB Platform is the foundation for the entire webMethods Suite, we know our foundation is strong.”
Forrester Research defines an ESB as “An intermediary that provides core functions to make a set of reusable services widely available, plus extended functions that simplify the use of the ESB in a real-world IT environment.”
