About

Prof. Dr. Thorsten Blecker is full professor at the Institute of Business Logistics and General Management at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) and the Kühne School of Logistics and Management.

In his presentation, he deals with the application of event-driven service-oriented architectures (EDSOA) in RFID-based maritime container logistics for developing efficient logistics processes. After a short introduction of the logistics scenario, the application possibilities of service-oriented architectures for the transshipment process is discussed.

The presentation further deals with possible and required process modifications caused by introducing RFID and explains how SOA can cope and simplify these changes.
