About
How can software companies cope with innovations that are not generated in their own R&D departments, but are developed by their users? “Open innovation” as well as "crowd sourcing" describe this phenomenon of strategic orientation towards customers.
After giving a short overview on the current fields of his research professor Krcmar, Chair for Information Systems at Technische Universität München will share the experiences he made during three idea competition concerning software.
What outcomes could result from an ideas competition? How to rate the quality of these ideas? What kind of motivation do the participants have? How could such a competition be designed with the aim of activating the participants and what are “good” participants? These questions are in the focus of current research.
In addition, the Project “Gemeinschaftsgestützte Innovationsentwicklung für Software-Unternehmen” (Genie) (Community-based Innovation Development for Software Companies) will be described.
