METADATA REGISTRY (MDR)

webMethods OneData MDR

Provide consistency in terms, descriptions and definitions across your company

The need to centralize and standardize metadata continues to be a driving force across organizations and government agencies. Companies understand that inconsistent terminology and definitions undermine the practical use of metadata. Companies, in fact, struggle to understand the value and exact inventory of their metadata assets. webMethods OneData MDR can help.

Standardized metadata registry & repository

Our all-in-one approach allows you to centralize terminology, definitions, governance and change management rules.

Out-of-the-box 11179 template

webMethods OneData MDR provides complete support for the ISO 11179 model, including the import of:

  • Administered items
  • Permissible values
  • Value meanings
  • Classification schemes

You can customize it by adding your own attributes. You also can configure the MDR to mask the complexity of the 11179 standard, empowering business users with specific views for governance and reporting. This capability makes the 11179 standard easier to use and adopt.

Multi-layered workflow

OneData’s rule-driven, multi-layered workflow can be triggered for data stewardship in support of standards compliance (e.g., Part-6 of ISO 11179).

MetaMap

The MetaMap feature enables you to link and consolidate existing metadata registry assets to propagate standards. The use of MetaMap for metadata discovery and analysis also makes it valuable as a pre-MDM tool. You also can use the mapping capabilities to link to external data elements and standards, such as NIEM, ACORD and CDISC.

Taxonomy support

OneData’s hierarchy management function provides configurable support for many taxonomy constructs, including classification scheme items.
