Run-time Policy Enforcement
Enforce run-time policies written and managed in CentraSite
Mediator operates in conjunction with CentraSite, providing policy-driven run-time governance of services. Policies are centrally managed in CentraSite but enforced in Mediator. Run-time policies range from authentication and authorization to those involving performance and scalability.
Message validation
Mediator supports policy-driven XML schema validation using pre-defined schema during run-time processing.
Smart policy provisioning
One-to-one policy provisioning works for a small number of services but can quickly become unwieldy as your SOA grows. It’s simply takes too much time to manually apply policies to services. Together with CentraSite, Mediator automatically enforces policies on all assets that meet specific criteria you define. You can change the policy’s scope simply by making the change in CentraSite—and Mediator will handle the rest.
Security
Uniformly secure your SOA applications by applying policy-driven security. Mediator provides a central point for controlling access to all services in your SOA regardless of the platform that hosts the services. This makes life easier for everyone. Service providers can focus on service functionality and not worry about security issues. Service consumers are relieved from complying with disparate security mechanisms. And, administrators and management can rest assured that services are being access only by authorized applications.
Mediator supports both transports and message layer security, including authentication, authorization, digital encryption and digital signatures.
