Governance

Improve process transparency, quality and flexibility

To ensure first-class process management, you need to establish effective end-to-end governance of your processes. Process governance is a set of policies and processes that defines the way an organization’s business processes are managed. Key elements of good process governance include transparency, responsibility, flexibility, accountability, commitment to the organization’s business goals and fast realization through automation.

You can achieve this with our BPA solution, which integrates ARIS Process Governance. With a model-driven workflow approach, governance processes are modeled in ARIS just like any other process. They can be represented with various levels of detail, such as value chains and Event-driven Process Chains (EPCs). This sequential representation is enhanced by a role view, which assigns process steps to the relevant employees.

With our solution, you can:

  • Use a model-based approach to ensure the executed process corresponds to modeled process
  • Make process changes without IT support
  • Create automated task lists and use escalation mechanisms
  • Achieve end-to-end process control
  • Measure and visualize process KPIs

Process governance is especially useful during release cycle management. To avoid uncontrolled growth of process models, most organizations install a review process. It starts with the process analyst designing a process and continues with a process reviewer assessing the model for formal compliance to modeling conventions and with respect to model content. Before the new process model is published and staff is trained, the process owner needs to approve or reject it for final release. That’s no problem with our BPA solution because different stakeholders, from the CIO to the process engineer, can see the same process model from their point of view.
