Master Data Management
Get “one version of truth.”
Capabilities
Multiple domain support: Master data of any domain and any subject area, all in a single platform. This includes customer data, product data, asset data, location data, suppliers, partners, reference data, hierarchy data and metadata
Data repository: Use the data store for all your mastered data. Data creation and changes are performed in an authoring area. After workflow approvals are met, the new or changed data is moved to the release area. This shields production data from any changes until they are fully approved
Acquisition and deployment: Import data using an import wizard. Load structures and data from other data sources while resolving and maintaining all dependencies during the process. Deploy high-quality data to subscribing systems. A built-in scheduler allows batch execution of imports and deployments at specified times
Open data model: Use an existing data model from ARIS or any CASE tool—there are no requisite or proprietary data structures in the repository
Data management: You can easily browse, maintain, search, filter, sort, print, email, edit, copy, delete and restore all your mastered data. Manage data residing in external databases—a unique capability
Workflow: Ensure consistent approval processes with the right people involved at each step. Notifications and escalations keep the process moving through to completion
Data governance: Provided through stewardship controls, workflows, rules management, change management, user and role administration as well as security down to the cell level. Your data is governed and secure with a full audit trail of all changes
Integration: Applications and systems can access the master data using an API and Web services or third-party tools. This makes the data easily available to subscribing systems
Security: Manage who has data access through user/role management. External authentication includes LDAP or Microsoft Active Directory® as well as single sign-on
Auditing and logging: Every change made to your data model and master data is logged. This makes it easy to audit and report on changes
Reporting: Create and publish reports using the built-in reporting wizard or a third-party tool. Reports can even be scheduled. Report on specific data or produce system reports, such as specific role activity or subscribing systems associated with data deployment
