NotestotheConsolidatedFinancialStatements [29] Additional information on financial instruments and risk management The following table shows the carrying amounts of financial assets and liabilities as well as their fair values in accordance with the levels of the fair-value hierarchy. The three levels are defined as follows: Level 1: Quoted prices (unadjusted) in active markets for identical assets or liabilities. Level 2: Inputs other than quoted market prices included within Level 1 that are observable for the asset or liability either directly or indirectly. Level 3: Inputs for the asset or liability that are not based on observable market data. Countries included in “other countries” are presented sep- arately once the revenue generated in the country in ques- tion reaches a significant level. Revenues in the U.S. con- tributed 10 percent or more to Group revenue and are therefore listed separately. These revenues are generated in U.S. dollars, so when comparing consecutive periods, ex- change rate fluctuations should be considered. Non-current assets Non-current assets are comprised of intangible assets and property, plant and equipment. in € thousands 2013 2012 USA 540,570 526,010 Other countries 145,755 152,105 Germany 419,079 356,664 Group total 1,105,404 1,034,779 179 Corporate Governance Report of the Supervisory Board Group Management Report Consolidated Financial Statements Additional Information Notes General Notes to the Consolidated Income Statement Notes to the Consolidated Balance Sheet Other Disclosures Responsibility Statement Auditors’ Report
