Shareholder Structure ­Software AG's anchor investor—the ­Software AG Foun­da­tion— continues to hold approximately 29 percent of the company's share capital. In addition, ­Software AG currently holds 9.2 percent in treasury shares. ­Software AG's free float there­fore represents about 62 percent of shares outstanding. The percentage of the free float held by institutional inves- tors increased from 38 percent at the end of 2013 to 42 percent in the first half of 2014. In contrast, U.S.-based investors decreased their share by 2 percentage points, from 24 percent in 2013 to 22 percent in 2014. The percentage of investors from the U.K. also dropped to 10 percent. At the same time, the share of Scandinavian inves- tors went up by more than 50 percent, from 9 percent to 14 percent. This was due primarily to the efforts of Norges Bank (Norway).
