Positive business development borne out by
rising revenues and earnings
In the second quarter of 2004, business continued to develop strongly at Software AG: Profits
climbed sharply, license sales grew, and total revenues rose. We were able to build on a highly
successful restructuring and strategy reorientation to exceed market expectations.
The Company posted a pre-tax profit of € 49.6 million,
€ 31.4 million higher than in the second three
months of 2003. Net profit tripled to € 39.4 million.
Software AG made further progress in terms of revenues
too: Primarily as a result of growth in license
business, consolidated revenues rose 3 percent
in the second quarter to € 106.3 million (€ 103.1
million in Q2 2003.)
