CeBIT 2011: Software AG Introduces Process-Driven IT Modernization

  • New process-driven IT Modernization focuses on automatically detected processes and creates better business value
  • Process-driven modernization approach helps to close gap between business and IT faster
  • The new approach includes the complete application ecosystem

Darmstadt / Hanover, Germany, 3/3/2011

With the launch of its new process-driven IT Modernization solution, Software AG introduces the first completely complementary collection of products and services designed specifically to align business and IT concerns. This holistic, process-centric solution adds a new process intelligence framework and best practices as well as specific targeted services to the complete product suite, including ARIS and webMethods, to help organizations achieve business process excellence.

“Business Process is driving modernization activities, not the other way around – it is about getting the most value out of your existing investment and the quickest route to modernization,” said Gartner Research Vice President Dale Vecchio. “As an increasing number of organizations struggle to address current and future demands through technology, they are seeking new approaches to modernization that focus on the entire organizational ecosystem — technology, people and process — to transform existing IT landscapes into more flexible, agile and cost efficient platforms to meet the current and future requirements of a rapidly changing business environment.”

The Software AG process-driven IT modernization solution allows organizations to leverage their existing investments in Natural, Adabas and COBOL environments to gain a complete view of their company’s ecosystem. Additional business process discovery and enterprise architecture capabilities from ARIS enable organizations to fully document and manage all of their IT assets. Once documented, transparency into these assets can help ensure process performance to help manage the change and planning process for modernizing the IT landscape. The assessment methodology also helps identify the hot spots and supports the decision-making process to ensure the right modernization priorities are set to maximize business value.

”Our IT modernization solution is preserving the organization’s investment in its core systems, while at the same time enabling the new capabilities our customers need to successfully meet business requirements,” said Dr. Wolfram Jost, Chief Technology Officer and member of the Executive Board, Software AG.

Software AG’s process-driven IT Modernization solution will be presented at CeBIT 2011 in Hannover, Germany, from March 1-5, 2011 in Hall 4, Booth D11. For more information, see www.itmodernization.com.
