Software AG plans a dividend increase

Darmstadt, Germany, 3/26/2012

Software AG’s Executive Board and Supervisory Board will recommend a dividend increase of seven percent to €0.46 per share (previous year: €0.43) to the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on May 4, 2012. On the basis of shares entitled to a dividend payment, this would result in a record total pay-out of €39.9 million (2010: €37.0 million).

Turnover amounted to €1.1 billion in fiscal year 2011, stable at the previous year’s record level. The Group profit margin increased by 50 basis points to 24.5 percent. This corresponded to an EBIT (IFRS) of €269 million. Profit after tax at €177 million was slightly over the previous year’s, marking a new historical record high.

Software AG sets its dividend payment on the development of net income and cash flow on one hand and the cash financing of acquisitions, a core strategic element, on the other. The increased dividend of €0.46 per share reflects Software AG’s improved financial results for fiscal 2011. In this way the shareholders directly participate in the company’s success.
