Software AG and Deutsche Telekom collaborate on De-Mail

The partnership focuses on business and public administration customers who want to integrate De-Mail into their business processes and procedures

Darmstadt, Germany, 2/6/2013

Software AG and Deutsche Telekom plan to collaborate on De-Mail. The cooperative partnership focuses on business and corporate customers as well as public sector agencies who want to use Telekom’s new electronic De-Mail service. Software AG brings its many years of experience in optimizing, automating and integrating business processes to the partnership. This will enable customers to prepare their systems for using De-Mail, and allow faster integration of the digital mail service into the company’s or government agency’s processes.

Software AG’s services include the analysis, development and optimization of processes, seamless integration into existing process and application landscapes as well as business process automation and monitoring. To supplement its consulting services, Software AG relies on its market-leading solutions such as webMethods and ARIS for process optimization and De-Mail integration.

Background: De-Mail
De-Mail offers businesses and public administration clients an electronic mail service that is legally binding like a paper document. This will save customers costs for postage, printing and envelopes. At the same time, it will also eliminate process costs for digitizing and archiving documents. Comprehensively replacing paper will not only accelerate processes, it is also environmentally friendly. According to Telekom’s calculations, De-Mail will save around 2.55 billion sheets of paper and 25,801 tons of CO2 in the next year alone. De-Mail was jointly developed by representatives from business, public administration and associations as an initiative of Germany’s Federal Ministry of the Interior. The goal: to establish a secure email infrastructure for citizens, businesses and the public sector. De-Mail providers must meet the strict security standards required by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). Encrypted transport channels ensure De-Mail security during transmission.
