If you want to take full advantage of the benefits of running on the cloud, you need to think about how best to bring your core Adabas & Natural applications into this new IT landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have spent years, if not decades, building intellectual capital and competitive advantage into the business logic of your mission-critical applications. It stands to reason that you don\u2019t want to leave these powerful applications behind or jeopardize stability as you look toward the benefits of a modern IT infrastructure such as the cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving to the cloud is appealing; you can reduce costs associated with on-premises capital expenses and management, scale your performance, improve reliability, harmonize your IT portfolio, and help attract a new generation of talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, there is a fast path to moving your trusted Adabas & Natural applications to the cloud. If you are running on Linux, you can use Virtual Machines (VMs) to make a fast lift-and-shift to the cloud without re-architecting or changing your proven applications. Virtualizing your IT infrastructure lets you use computing resources more efficiently. Linux gives you the freedom to run your applications virtually anywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are looking to move to the cloud but are not already on Linux, don\u2019t worry. Adabas & Natural are platform independent so you can move your application to the Linux platform in step with moving to a cloud provider environment. There is no need for you to make an interim investment in an on-premises Linux machine\u2014just head straight to your selected cloud provider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not one-size-fits-all<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As with most things, one size does not fit all when it comes to moving to the cloud. An important step in your cloud journey is to choose your cloud architecture and cloud providers. Whatever your choice in strategy, your Adabas & Natural applications can come along for the journey. Adabas & Natural runs on public clouds\u2014including Amazon\u00ae<\/sup> Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft\u00ae<\/sup> Azure\u00ae<\/sup>\u2014on your private cloud, and hybrid cloud architectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you choose to work with a public cloud provider, you can deploy computing services on demand, in minutes with just a few clicks, and add or subtract computing power and storage as needed. You can also expect to gain reliability and business continuity with the confidence that data backups, disaster recovery and security are an integral part of cloud provider environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also choose to launch your own private cloud environment or operate in a hybrid architecture. On-premises Adabas & Natural installations typically consist of several VMs connected to storage area network volumes. As part of the lift and shift, you can move both the VMs and storage to the cloud, without any changes to your Adabas & Natural application architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
