Se trata de demasiada carga de trabajo concentrada en la misma ventana en el mismo recurso.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La contenci\u00f3n ocurre cuando:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Demasiados trabajos por lotes golpean la CPU GP al mismo tiempo<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compitiendo por el mismo recurso limitado&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Causar retrasos, incumplimientos de SLA y solapamiento con l\u00ednea&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>JOPAZ restablece el equilibrio redistribuyendo las pesadas cargas de trabajo por lotes de COBOL a motores m\u00e1s eficientes, modificando as\u00ed el comportamiento de esos picos sin necesidad de modificar las aplicaciones.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 cambios?<\/strong>&nbsp;Ruta de ejecuci\u00f3n, comportamiento de la CPU y entorno de tiempo de ejecuci\u00f3n (JVM)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qu\u00e9 no:&nbsp;<\/strong>C\u00f3digo fuente COBOL, datos, marco de planificaci\u00f3n y resultados&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A continuaci\u00f3n, analizamos c\u00f3mo tres grandes empresas de diferentes sectores lograron ahorros incre\u00edbles en CPU mientras resolv\u00edan de forma definitiva sus problemas de contenci\u00f3n.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-x-large-font-size\" id=\"h-1-member-service-organization-nbsp-solving-the-r4ha-peak-nbsp\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:700\">1. Organizaci\u00f3n de Servicio a Miembros: Resoluci\u00f3n del Pico R4HA&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Para una importante organizaci\u00f3n de servicios para miembros de Am\u00e9rica del Norte que brinda servicios automotrices, de viajes y financieros, crear previsibilidad era una prioridad m\u00e1xima. Su procesamiento por lotes estaba aumentando los costos del promedio m\u00f3vil de 4 horas (R4HA), creando una necesidad urgente de una mejor distribuci\u00f3n de la carga de trabajo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-strategy\"><strong>La estrategia:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>La organizaci\u00f3n recurri\u00f3 a JOPAZ para abordar la causa principal de la competencia por la carga de trabajo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Compilaron c\u00f3digo fuente batch de COBOL en bytecode de Java&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Este c\u00f3digo se ejecut\u00f3 posteriormente en la JVM de Unix System Services&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Esto les permiti\u00f3 aprovechar los motores IBM zIIP, reduciendo la presi\u00f3n m\u00e1xima de GP al redistribuir la ejecuci\u00f3n.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-setup-nbsp\">La configuraci\u00f3n:&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Entorno COBOL Db2&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Los resultados tambi\u00e9n se probaron utilizando un archivo secuencial.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-results\"><strong>Los resultados:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El impacto fue inmediato y sustancial:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sin JOPAZ<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>47.96 segundos de tiempo de CPU&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Con JOPAZ<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2,47 segundos de tiempo de CPU (reducci\u00f3n de 951 TP18T)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ahorro de CPU en COBOL por lote 94.84%&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MSUs recuperados para nuevas cargas de trabajo&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No se requirieron cambios en el c\u00f3digo fuente original&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"624\" height=\"279\" data-id=\"7371\" src=\"https:\/\/www.softwareag.com\/app\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Picture1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7371\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.softwareag.com\/app\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Picture1.png 624w, https:\/\/www.softwareag.com\/app\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Picture1-300x134.png 300w, https:\/\/www.softwareag.com\/app\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Picture1-18x8.png 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-retail-energy-provider-investing-in-efficiency\">2. Proveedor de Energ\u00eda Minorista: Inversi\u00f3n en Eficiencia<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Un importante proveedor de energ\u00eda de Am\u00e9rica del Norte con una gran presencia de Db2 necesitaba una forma m\u00e1s estrat\u00e9gica de utilizar sus recursos de procesamiento existentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La Estrategia:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Al igual que en el primer caso, el cliente recurri\u00f3 a JOPAZ para que su lote COBOL pudiera ejecutarse en su motor zIIP. En esta ocasi\u00f3n, el motor zIIP dispon\u00eda de una capacidad limitada para su uso por parte de JOPAZ, por lo que, tras el \u00e9xito de los resultados iniciales, se a\u00f1adi\u00f3 un segundo zIIP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La configuraci\u00f3n:<strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Entorno COBOL Db2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Usamos tres procesos por lotes. Cada uno de estos procesos por lotes ten\u00eda programas COBOL que acced\u00edan a Db2, y cada proceso ten\u00eda m\u00faltiples pasos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Los Resultados:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sin JOPAZ<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2:26.27 Minutos de tiempo de CPU<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>14:10 hora del reloj<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Con JOPAZ: un solo motor zIIP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>14,4 segundos de tiempo de CPU (reducci\u00f3n de 901 TP18T)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5:44 minutos de tiempo cronometrado (disminuci\u00f3n de 601 TP18T)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ahorro de CPU en COBOL por lotes 76%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Con JOPAZ \u2013 2 motores zIIP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>6,97 segundos de tiempo de CPU (una reducci\u00f3n de 951 TP18T)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>8:40 minutos de tiempo real (disminuci\u00f3n de 391 TP y 18 T)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ahorro de CPU en COBOL por lotes 96.7%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Las pruebas iniciales fueron tan prometedoras que el cliente contrat\u00f3 inmediatamente recursos dedicados para llevar el proyecto a su finalizaci\u00f3n. Empresa de tecnolog\u00eda de pagos: Abordando la complejidad y VSAM<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>En Sudam\u00e9rica, una empresa l\u00edder en tecnolog\u00eda de pagos procesa miles de millones de transacciones anualmente. A diferencia de los otros ejemplos, este era un entorno VSAM puro sin bases de datos tradicionales, y presentaba aplicaciones excepcionalmente grandes y complejas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La Estrategia:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Dado que ya contaban con cuatro procesadores zIIP infrautilizados en su rack, la empresa consider\u00f3 que JOPAZ era la soluci\u00f3n perfecta para recuperar capacidad de GP. Comenzaron recompilando un complejo programa de 54 000 l\u00edneas. En palabras de nuestro cliente: \u00abSi JOPAZ puede gestionar esta aplicaci\u00f3n, puede gestionar cualquier cosa\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La configuraci\u00f3n:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>El 35% del volumen total de trabajo corresponde a procesos por lotes en COBOL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Entorno VSAM puro sin bases de datos tradicionales<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 procesadores zIIP infrautilizados disponibles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Los Resultados:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reducci\u00f3n del uso de CPU de COBOL por lote en 97%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maximizamos el retorno de la inversi\u00f3n (ROI) del mainframe obteniendo m\u00e1s capacidad del espacio existente.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mantuvo el negocio como de costumbre sin interrupciones<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:300\">En resumen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Como pueden atestiguar nuestros clientes, la modernizaci\u00f3n no tiene por qu\u00e9 significar una migraci\u00f3n arriesgada y de a\u00f1os a la nube. El desaf\u00edo no es si COBOL funciona. Es si un peque\u00f1o n\u00famero de trabajos est\u00e1 generando una presi\u00f3n desproporcionada durante ventanas cr\u00edticas. En lugar de cambiar sus cargas de trabajo (reescribi\u00e9ndolas, reprogram\u00e1ndolas o elimin\u00e1ndolas), las empresas est\u00e1n recuperando casi todo su uso de CPU de COBOL por lotes cambiando d\u00f3nde se ejecutan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tanto si trabajas con Db2, VSAM, Adabas o archivos secuenciales, los resultados muestran sistem\u00e1ticamente un ahorro de CPU superior a 80%, y a menudo de
