EcoScreen Equipment Analytics

ADAMOS is a strategic alliance in mechanical and plant engineering for the future topics Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). With "EcoScreen Equipment Analytics", Dürr Systems AG has developed a software tool that seamlessly records all data from the automotive painting process. This creates a "digital fingerprint" for each painted body. It contains, for example, information on the movements of the robots, paint consumption and the exact position of the body during painting. If a quality problem occurs, the cause can be determined immediately using the recorded data. The streaming analytics module of the software tool enables online quality control. Data from the painting process, e.g. the paint flow, is analyzed in real time and anomalies are displayed.
The "EcoScreen Equipment Analytics" software is based on the Edge technology of ADAMOS.

Can the IoT make winter roads safer?

Can the IoT make winter roads safer?

Yes— wherever moving assets (like salt-spreading trucks) are at work, data can be captured and analyzed in real time to optimize roadways for drivers. This showcase illustrates how a truck in service collects and transmits time-sensitive data on salting and gritting roads using Software AG’s Cumulocity IoT platform. At the same time, environmental data’s collected via the low-cost wide-area Sigfox network. The combined data informs teams on where there are icy roads and when salting took place. This information can be leveraged for further processing in specialized applications that run anywhere, on-premises or in the cloud.

Many technologies come together to make this solution run seamlessly. Software AG’s Cumulocity IoT provides services for device management, sensor onboarding, device-data transfer, and sending control commands to the salt spreader. Required solutions for networked moving assets are provided by Sensor-Technik Wiedemann, the salt spreader is from Kugelmann, and an environmental data sensor is from Greatech.

Do not make your machines smart - opportunities and risks of cloud-based Industrial IoT business models
(Presentation will be held in English)

Speaker: Dr. Marco Link, Managing Director, ADAMOS GmbH

Industrie 4.0, has the declared goal of customer-oriented interaction in cross-company (global) value creation networks. IIoT platforms provide the technological framework for cross-manufacturer networking of production processes and the implementation of new business models. The heterogeneity and lack of standardization in the industrial sector and especially in mechanical and plant engineering confront SMEs in particular with difficulties. Digital applications should help users to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes. It is therefore inevitable to develop use cases and digital business models jointly with partners, suppliers and end customers. This is the way to ensure added value and monetization. But it is only through cloud-based solutions that the full potential of IIoT can be leveraged. Starting with cost and efficiency advantages, through worldwide availability of analyses for decision making to machine learning - the possibilities are huge!

Software AG Research – Designing future of CVS Mobile Logistics with European partners in Horizon 2020
The PrEstoCloud Project: Funded Value through Co-Innovation for Logistics, Surveillance and Media domain
(Presentation will be held in English)

Speakers: Dirk Mayer, Director, Research, Software AG & Marija Komatar, Managing Director, PITEA d.o.o.

The European research project PrEstoCloud targets a dynamic and distributed software architecture that manages cloud and fog resources proactively, while reaching the extreme edge of the network for an efficient real-time BigData processing. The CVS logistics pilot belongs to one of the three uses cases: Vehicle telematics produce big volumes of multi-modal data; consequently, vehicle management is becoming a highly data-centric task. The major challenges are not in collecting and storing the data, but rather in the fast extraction of useful information and alerts from the data streams to help decision makers (either a driver, a fleet manager or a policy maker) to make the right decisions. The use case scenario presents a transport logistics solution with analytics on telematics data that is able to extract important information through real-time computation at the edge of the network.
