Driving Up Efficiency: Modernizing Mainframe Apps at the DMV

4:45 pm - 5:30 pm · October 14, 2014

The Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) uses Adabas for Mainframe as the database of record for DMV driver and vehicle data. To modernize, the DMV moved from a UNIX®-based, green-screen front-end application to a Microsoft .NET Framework Windows® application that integrates with the legacy mainframe Adabas-Natural applications. Now all DMV Customer Service Centers access the mainframe apps using a locally installed Microsoft .NET Framework Windows application. All communications between the end user and the mainframe are handled by Web services and EntireX Broker services.
