How does AWS ProServ help Adabas & Natural customers?

So, given that Software AG supports Natural and Adabas on open systems and Linux, we have a number of compute platforms at AWS that allow us to run those applications in the cloud. From EC2, an elastic compute instance platform, to container offerings like Amazon EKS, our AWS-managed container platform.
What is the value of using containers?
Neile Baille:
Where containers fit in is when you’re looking to abstract your application’s runtime to make it more portable. And this frees up a number of compute platform options you can run the containers on, and you can select based on your requirements for scale, operating model, and performance.
What factors should application owners consider when moving to the cloud?
Neile Baille:
Currently with Software AG, AWS ProServ is helping our customers in the UK overcome challenges that they’re facing around design and architecture, and implementation of cloud migration. This includes how they are going to move their data. How is the application going to run in the cloud? How will it be available and scalable? But also other questions like what the developer experience will look like, how they will interact with the application, and how they will deliver services to end users?
Why keep Adabas & Natural applications when shifting to the cloud?
Neile Baille:
When shifting to the cloud, there’s some benefit in retaining Adabas & Natural. Fundamentally, you’re able to retain the same staff, the same experience, the same understanding of the data and application, and run it in a different location. So owners of Adabas & Natural applications can be sure that moving to AWS is a proven path that will give their applications stability and a future through 2050 and beyond.
