IBM Supported Platforms by Software AG

The following are the supported IBM hardware platforms:

  • IBM Power Systems including AS/400, iSeries, System i, pSeries, and System p
    Power Systems running AIX and IBM i (formerly known as i5/OS and OS/400)
  • IBM xSeries running Microsoft Windows and Linux Distributions
  • IBM zSeries running either IBM z/OS, IBM z/VSE, IBM z/VM, or Linux Distributions for zSeries

Here you will find product testing information relative to the latest IBM mainframe operating systems and related IBM subsystems.

Note:
This page represents our testing of our operating system dependent product components under the latest IBM operating systems and subsystems and any possible release and fix information that was determined in our testing with the latest IBM components.

What's New?

  • As of March 19, 2013, we are making available a document that describes the IBM requirements for the implementation of IBM z/OS 2GB Large Page Support that can now be enabled by Adabas. The z/OS 2GB Large Support will be made available by IBM at the end of March. Software AG will be publishing updated Adabas 8.2.5 and Adabas Caching Facility 8.2.3 information shortly. Please consult this document relative to the pre-req requirements for IBM z/OS 2GB Large Page by going to the link.
  • As of February 25, 2013, with the release of Adabas 8.2.5, Adadas has enabled EXCP suppor for zHPF channel programs for z/OS V1 R13 and above. Please see the following updated information for EXCP as well as for EXCPVR via the link.
  • As of February 5, 2013, IBM has announced a preview of IBM z/OS Version 2 Release 1 with availability in September of 2103.
  • As of October 3, 2012, IBM has announced a preview of IBM IMS 13 for the z/OS platform with GA availability to be announced later in 2013.
  • As of October 3, 2012, IBM has announced IBM CICS TS V5.1 for z/OS with product availability being December 14th , 2012. The information on our web page has been updated with early information.
  • As of September 24, 2012 with the release of Adabas 8.2.5, Adadas has enabled the zHPF protocol for I/O under z/OS 1.13 and above. Please see the following information via this link.
  • As of August 28, 2012, IBM System z has announced their latest mainframe system, the IBM zEnterprise EC12 system. Software AG has tested our current product set on the newly announced zEnterprise EC12, which you can reference the information by going to this link.
  • As of July 18, 2012, Software AG customers that have Entire System Server under z/OS and are now applying  IBM APAR OA38944 which closed recently, are required to upgrade to Entire System Server V3.5.2 to obtain the necessary suppport for this new function for JES2 that was implemented by this APAR.
  • As of July 2, 2012 with the release of Adabas 8.2.5, Adadas has enabled the zHPF protocol for I/O under z/OS 1.13 and above. Please see the following information via link.
  • As of April 3, 2012, IBM has announced IBM z/VSE V5.1.1 upgrade with availability on June 15th, 2012.
  • As of October 12, 2011, IBM has announced IBM z/VSE V5.1 with product availability being November 25th, 2011. The informaton on our web page has been updated with early information.
  • As of October 12, 2011, IBM has announced IBM z/VM V6.2 with product availability being December 2nd, 2011. The information on our web page has been updated with early information.
  • As of October 4, 2011, IBM has announced IBM Websphere MQ V7.1 for z/OS with product availability being November 25th, 2011.
  • As of October 4, 2011, IBM has announced IBM IMS 12 for z/OS with product availability being October 28th, 2011.
  • As of July 12, 2011, IBM has announced IBM zEnterprise 114 - Freedom by design midrange System z server which can run z/OS, z/VM, z/VSE, and LInux on System z. We at Software AG are not aware of any issues in migrating to the IBM z114 at this time.
  • As of July 12, 2011, IBM has announced General Availability for z/OS 13 for the IBM System z hardware platform. The z/OS document has been updated to reflect initial testing of Software AG products under this new release of z/OS 13. As of July 12th,  this product will be generally available to customers on September 30th, 2011.
  • As of April 5, 2011, IBM has announced General Availability for CICS TS V4.2 for z/OS for the IBM System z hardware platform. The CICS TS document for z/OS has been updated to reflect initial testing of Software AG products under this new release. As of June 24th, this product is now generally available.
  • As of October 22, 2010 IBM has announced General Availability for DB2 10 for z/OS for the IBM System z hardware platform. Please note that Software AG's Natural product will support DB2 10 with the release of Natural V4.2.7 (NDB427) and NDB432 which will both be released on December 7th, 2010.
  • As of October 5, 2010 IBM has announced General Availability for z/VSE 4.3 for the IBM System z hardware platform. Please see updated IBM Product Compatibility information below as of October 8th.
  • IBM has also announced General Availability for z/OS 12 for the IBM System z hardware platform. Please see updated IBM Product Compatibility information below.
  • As of July 22, 2010 Software AG is publishing the results of it's testing of z/OS Extended Address Volumes (EAV) with the introduction of IBM z/OS 12. Please see updated document below in the z/OS IBM Product Compatibility information section.
  • As of July 22, 2010 IBM has announced General Availability for z/OS 12 for the IBM System z hardware platform. Please see updated IBM Product Compatibility information below
  • As of July 22, 2010 IBM has announced General Availability for the IBM zEnterprise 196 (z196) family of servers. We have provided information on our product testing of this new IBM System z processor family.
