EASILY ACCESS HISTORICAL IoT DATA FOR ANALYSIS

Historical IoT data analytics enables you to fine-tune your processes—for example, improving shipment processes by learning from past shipments or discovering trends to identify devices that may fail soon. It complements real-time streaming analytics to give you holistic view of your business.

Cumulocity IoT DataHub gives you open access to historical IoT data for analytics. DataHub extracts data on a scheduled, incremental basis from the Cumulocity IoT platform, optimizes and stores it for analytical queries in a data lake.

You can run sophisticated analytics using your preferred analytics tool on your long-term IoT data for smarter decision making. Other IoT platforms only retain operational endpoint data for a finite time—as short as two weeks—and use data stores that are expensive and not optimized for data analysis or training artificial intelligence (AI) models.

Like Cumulocity IoT, DataHub was designed to support any type or number of devices and can scale to manage the data each produces.

LOWER THE COST OF IoT DATA STORAGE

With DataHub, data is extracted then transformed and stored in your choice of Amazon® S3 or Microsoft® Azure® Data Lake Storage. Offloading your data to a dedicated data lake:

  • Builds and retains experiences with that data
  • Stores data cost effectively
  • Enables you to query data without impacting IoT performance

For each extraction, DataHub moves alarm, event, measurement and inventory data for every device into the data lake.

CONVERT IoT DATA INTO MEANINGFUL INSIGHTS

DataHub integrates Cumulocity IoT with your business intelligence or analytics applications, enabling queries on historical IoT data.

You can use a wide range of analytic, machine learning or other custom tools that use standards such as JDBC®, ODBC, REST, SQL and Apache Arrow Flight protocol. You can perform parallel queries on data sets without impacting live operational analysis on Cumulocity IoT.

Data architects have the flexibility and control they need while data consumers have self-service access to their IoT data.
